Where: 2900 Vanderbilt Place (near the Vandy football stadium)

No, we’re not giving away a grandparent, but since this Sunday is National Grandparent’s Day, we are having a special promotion in honor of all the wonderful grandparents out there.
I was blessed with 4 loving grandparents who each in their own way tremendously influenced my life. I was also super-close to my maternal grandmother, Nam, who was your stereotypical grandmother in all senses of the word. She taught me so much about how to live a good life, and as any good teacher does, she taught not only by words but by example. She passed away the day after my 26th birthday, and seven years later I’ll still find myself reaching for my phone to call and tell her something.
Even though I have tons of pictures of us when I was a child, I only have ONE picture of me with her when I was an adult. It’s just a typical snapshot taken at my parent’s house, but it’s one of my favorite pictures ever. It stays tucked away in my Bible and I take it out and look at it all the time. It’s because of this picture that I always make all my brides get a picture of just them and their grandparent’s at the wedding. Not a posed picture, but that cheek-to-cheek, hug-only-grandmother-can-give squeeze that they’ll hopefully treasure forever.
